“ What a lovely restaurant. The dishes offered are definitely quite exploratory and pushed me out of my usual comfort zone. The food was quite good and the ambiance and service was exceptional. Highly recommend this place for a fancier more refined dining experience! ”
“ When I first saw the sign and the building, I thought it was a Chinese flower distributor. Upon walking inside you notice with warm ambience. The food was delicious and i especially love the duck. Our server was exceptional. When I come back, I would like to try the F&C sushi as I watched the chef prepare the dish numerous times throughout the night! ”
“ This was our first trip to Montreal and this was our favorite restaurant on the trip. We had the tasting menu and the food was great all around. The sashimi with the lemony sauce and the duck breast were my favorites. We also had some gin cocktails that were really good. The atmosphere is cool and we were able to see some of the cooking and preparation of sashimi from our place at the bar. Overall we really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend! ”
“ The food at Fleurs et Cadeaux was awesome :) Would definitely recommend if you are craving some good food in the Montreal, QC area. The Magret de Carnard Au Miso Blanc (Duck Breast) was awesome. The duck was tender, savoury and delicious. Would definitely recommend if you are craving some good duck. The F&C Chirashi Sushi was awesome. The variety of sashimi was fresh and delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Would definitely recommend if are you craving a good variety of sashimi and rice. The Takaki D’Albacore (Tuna Sashimi) was fresh and delicious. The Poulet Nanban (Sweet and Sour Fried Chicken) was good. The fried chicken was tender, crispy and flavourful. Would definitely recommend if you are craving some good sweet and sour fried chicken. The Tantan Udon was okay. The udon was perfectly cooked with great texture. The spicy ground pork was delicious. The sesame based sauce was okay. The Brownie, Caramel Sale Au Miso Rouge (Brownie with Miso Salted Caramel) was good. The brownie was delicious with chocolatey goodness. The miso salted caramel was an interesting flavour that somehow worked with the brownie. The Annin Dofu was awesome. This cream based dessert with caramelized apples (or was it pear?) and shikwasa ice cream was light, not too sweet, citrusy, and heavenly. Wish there was more of the shikwasa ice cream which provided that really good citrus flavour. Would definitely recommend the Annin Dofu dessert to wrap up the dinner :) ”
“ Wow! I am a relatively picky eater and even I can appreciate this is great food even if a lot of the flavours were out of my comfort zone. Super flavourful unique dishes. Expensive for the portion size but honestly that’s what you pay at these kinds of restaurants. In my opinion, the flavour and quality of food is worth the . Service is very attentive and you always feel taken care of. Ambiance is very nice with one of the waiters/managers being the DJ constantly providing the vibe Yummy would go back!!! ”
“ Kept hearing great things about this place, and the reviews were right! Super warm interior, friendly servers, prompt service, and outstanding food. We went here around 5:30pm on a weeknight for some light fare and drinks, and it wasn’t too busy (made a reservation nonetheless). The duck was the best! ”
“ The restaurant’s decor exudes a Japanese mid-century modern vibe, creating a warm yet lively atmosphere with elements like a vintage record DJ booth playing jazz and similar music. The food was absolutely amazing, offering a perfect blend of light, rich, and luxurious flavours. Each bite harmoniously combined fat, acidity, and sweetness. Standout dishes included the miso duck, albacore tuna, and udon noodles. ”
“ Food is excellent. Flavours are as accurate as some descriptions from previous reviewers on Google. There were attentions to details, taste profiles lean more on savoury note rather than mildly sweet and comforting Japanese dishes (not your typical). Dishes showcased the skills of chefs that would be rarely found elsewhere despite them being served like tapas (very small portions). Service staff were attentive and accommodating. We asked to be moved to a table instead of bar stools as it was a birthday celebration. We were moved within 3 minutes of request. During busy night, do not expect small talks and verbal exchange with servers, they did not give impression that they wanted to talk, not sure if it was just our experience. It is a small, narrow bar, weeknights can be crazily packed. Not suitable for small children or people with claustrophobia. ”
